Hey everyone! I guess you’ve been hearing, and seeing lots of posts and tweets with the hashtag #BookwormsUnitePH for the last few days, especially from the Filipino Book Blogger Community. That’s because yesterday, we hosted another bookworm meetup for PH book bloggers and readers!
We did this last year on a whim, you can read about it here. However, for this year, there was a lot of planning involved for us organizers. For the last few months, we’ve been trying to contact publishers and book stores for sponsorships, and bookish cafes in the Metro for venues. Fortunately, we got Simon and Schuster PH, Penguin Random House International, and Fully Booked as sponsors! So yeah, it was raining book prizes yesterday at Tweedle Book Cafe! Tweedle was super kind to reserve the venue for us to commence the meet up!

As usual, I met up with Jem first then we proceeded to Tweedle at around 11:30AM, as my co-organizers and I planned to meet early to do some preparations for the event. Like last year, we had games like Jumbled Words, Word Soup, Cover Guessing Game, and Literary Bingo. We also added a Trivia Game which I hosted with JM of Book Freak Revelations. I was so happy to have met new bookworms during the event! All the efforts we put into organizing the event weren’t wasted. We were bummed though, that we didn’t get to have a big chance in winning the cool titles from our sponsors, such as Gemina, but we’re equally happy to have brought loads of fun to everyone. I was also glad to have met Ms. Honey de Peralta of Penguin Random House, and she invited in some event opportunities for bloggers, which was really cool! It was just sad I wasn’t able to take a photo with her, but one of my new friends posted a group photo of us with Ms. Honey.
I’m so glad to have worked with my awesome co-organizers and I’d like to thank them for everything! Hello Hazel of Stay Bookish, Dianne of Oops! I Read A Book Again, Miel of Bookish and Awesome, Faye of The Social Potato, JM, Raffy of Eccentric Everything. Also to Jasmine of Jasmine Pearl Reads, who wasn’t able to come. Thanks for the support, girl!
Big big thanks also goes out to everyone who braved the rain and joined us for yesterday’s event! This wouldn’t really be possible if it weren’t for you guys. Hope you continue to support this event. Who knows, there might be another one?
I’m so glad that the Filipino Book Community can be united in such events! I hope to see these faces again soon!
Thanks again to Penguin Random House INTL, Scholastic PH, Simon and Schuster PH, Fully Booked, and Tweedle Book Cafe for helping us out with the event!
By the way, these are the books I got from the Book Blind Date, which went really crazy, and the raffle. Do share your photos and recaps with the hashtag #BookwormsUnitePH!
